- What is your full name? Why did your parents give you that name?
My full name is Ashley Catherine Berg Flitton. I think my parents just liked the name Ashley, no real significance. It makes sense because I read once that Ashley was the most popular name in 1991, same year I was born. I can't remember what grade I was in, but at one time there were three Ashley B's in my class. I like my name but grew to hate how popular it was (and still is). Other names they considered were: Stephanie and Natalie.
Many people think that Cathy is short for Catherine, and that I am named after my mom. The name Catherine actually comes from my great great grandmother, Amelia Catherine Jorgensen. My cousin Amelia ('Millie') is also named after her.
